TS Photoline 72/432 mm Apo - a perfect travel scope for observers and photographers

Lead-managed by Teleskop Service, this high-quality Photoline apo with an FPL53 element from Ohara (Japan) was created. The goal was to construct a compact and powerful telescope which is also attractive for the demanding astrophotographer. For this reason, we have equipped the telescope with a modern 2.5" rack and pinion focuser which can hold even heavy accessories like CCD cameras. Despite very good mechanics, the apo is a true lightweight with only 2.18 kg, and with a length of only about 310 millimetres, the telescope has space even in the hand luggage.

Photography with the Photoline 72 mm f/6 apo:

The apo has a large back focus of 135 mm from the 2" receptacle of the focuser. This allows for trouble-free operation of our optional field correctors. A corrector is always necessary for maintaining good sharpness to the edge.

TSFLAT72 - Corrector without change of focal length - The corrector leaves the focal length at 432 mm and the focal ratio at f/6. The corrector offers full correction and a good illumination up to full-frame sensors. The optimal working distance from the M48 connecting thread to the camera sensor is 55 mm, the working distance is extendable to 71 mm.

TSRed08-72 - TS corrector with focal length reduction - The corrector shortens the focal length of the apo from 420 mm to 331 mm and improves the focal ratio to f/4.74. We recommend the corrector for DSLR cameras up to APS-C sensors and also for astro cameras with medium sized sensors. The optimal working distance from the T2-thread of the reducer to the sensor is 55 mm.

Observing with the Photoline 72 mm f/6 Apo:

The generous working distance of the apo allows even using 2" eyepieces at full illumination. Thus a gigantic magnification range with high field of view is available to you.

By using a 2" Paragon ED 35 mm eyepice and a 2" star diagonal, a true field of view of 5.7 degrees can be obtained, at 12x magnification. Observations of animals and the countryside with maximal image brightness even in twilight become possible, also observing extended nebula regions with nebula filters.

The 72 mm APO lens, free from chromatic aberrations, allows magnifications up to approximately 200x. See fine details of the moon´s surface or observe the planets of our solar system. The contrast performance of the apo will surprise you in this field, too.

Top mechanics through the 2.5" rack and pinion focuser

The focuser holds accessories up to approx. 5 kg without tilting. The drawtube is adjusted using a rack which is non-interacting with the bearing itself, thus allowing precise adjustment even at maximum load. The 1:11 dual speed transmission offers precise focusing also for astrophotography.

A female M63x1 thread on the drawtube allows threaded connections.

The 72 mm FPL53 doublet lens

Without doubt, the heart of the refractor is the multi-coated 72 mm f/6 objective with the FPL53 APO element from Ohara (Japan) and lanthanum glass element as second special glass. This high-quality lens offers an image free of false colour even in the high magnification range.

The air-spaced objective is adjustable mounted, of course. For maximum contrast, each lens is supplied with the best possible multi-coating offered by the manufacturer.
