TS 72 mm f/6 SD-APO - a mobile apochromatic refractor with outstanding performance
Whether in the Alps or traveling in the sunny south, great nights require an excellent telescope. This compact APO refractor accompanies you everywhere and offers the comfort and quality of an optimal telescope with all the possibilities for observation and astrophotography. Weighing only 2.18 kg and with a transport length of only 31 cm, the apo even fits in your hand luggage.
Astrophotography with the 72 mm f/6 SD Apo:The sophisticated 2.5" RAP (rack and pinion) focuser allows for high-quality astrophotography and securely holds even heavy cameras and accessories. The speed reduction allows for sensitive and precise focusing. Correctors are necessary for sharp stars right to the edge. We recommend two correctors that are screwed onto the focuser.
TSFLAT72G2 ... The 1.0x corrector leaves the focal length at 432 mm and offers correction and illumination up to full frame. The working distance from the M48 thread on the camera side to the sensor is 55 mm. The corrector is ideal for use with mirrorless system cameras and DSLRs with larger sensors. TSRED08-72 ... The 0.8x corrector shortens the focal length to approx. 346 mm and improves the focal ratio to f/4.8. The working distance from the M48 thread on the camera side to the sensor is 55 mm. We recommend the corrector for cameras up to APS-C format.Astrophotographic results obtained with this telescope on Astrobin:Here you can find astrophotographs taken with this telescope:
Link to AstrobinObservation through the TS 72 mm f/6 SD Apo:The generous working distance of the apo even allows for the use of 2" eyepieces with full illumination. The high-contrast, sharp objective allows for magnifications of up to approximately 200x. This opens up a wide range of applications, from extreme wide-field observations to high-resolution lunar and planetary observations. The high-contrast objective also allows for landscape and wildlife observation even at dusk with maximum image brightness.
The 2.5" dual-speed RAP focuser:The focuser can hold accessories weighing up to approximately 5 kg without tilting. The drawtube is moved using a rack and pinion mechanism. It is decoupled from the bearing itself. This allows for precise adjustment even at maximum load. The 1:11 reduction ratio also offers precise adjustment for astrophotography. An M63 internal thread on the drawtube also allows for threaded connections.
The 72 mm doublet FPL53 lanthanum glass objective:The heart of the refractor is undoubtedly the multi-coated 72 mm f/6 objective with the FPL53 apochromatic element from Ohara (Japan) and the lanthanum glass element as the second special glass. This air-spaced high-quality objective provides color-pure images even at high magnifications. The combination of the proven FPL53 and lanthanum glass gives the apo a correction that was previously only seen in FPL53 triplet lenses. The air-spaced objective is, of course, mounted in an adjustable cell. Each objective is coated with the manufacturer´s best possible multi-coating for maximum contrast.
