Harmonic Drive GoTo Mounts
Mounts with Harmonic Drive allow a high payload with low dead weight and do not require counterweights.
The quite new technology, originating from robotics, finds its way more and more into astronomical mounts. Harmonic Drive mounts do not need to be balanced and can be used without counterweights. All Harmonic Drive mounts are GoTo mounts (automatic object positioning) and are mainly used in mobile astrophotography.
