Skywatcher 50 mm ED telescope with helical focuser and adjustable finder scope mount
This small telescope is a true multi talent and can be attached effortlessly to any telescope. It is equipped with a well corrected ED lens made of S-FPL53 glass. At a focal length of only 242 mm it is highly light-sensitive and ideally suited for widefield observation.

Photographically, the Evoguide 50ED is used as a guide scope up to 1000 mm focal length and for imaging large objects - Skywatcher offers an optional field flattener, which is linked in the accessories section. Since any camera with a sensor size of 1/4" or larger can show the moon or sun entirely, you can also use the instrument together with almost any (not too heavy) astro camera with T2 or 1.25" connector for recording eclipses and similar events.

Thanks to the adjustable holder featuring a standard finder scope base, the small refractor fits in every customary finder shoe - simply remove the old finder scope and replace it with the refractor - done. For individual adaptations we offer suitable finder shoes in our accessory section.

If you want to use the ED with a saddle plate, for example on a double mount like the VC4, simply use the included Vixen style dovetail bar. Additionally, this has a 1/4" photo thread for mounting on a photo tripod.

Range of application :
High quality guide scope for astrophotography - apertures up to 10" can be well guided, autoguider presumed.
Premium finder scope with outstanding sharpness above average - You can already identify and distinguish various deep-sky objects and can also clearly differentiate between a star and nebula.
Good lens for photography with astro cameras with small sensors. The objective´s sharpness produces needle-fine stars and exposure time can be held short due to the fast f-ratio of f/4.8. We recommend this telescope for cameras with sensors up to 15 mm diagonal.
Convenient widefield refractor - simply insert a good 1.25" eyepiece and enjoy the ultimate widefield effect. With a 32 mm Super Plössl eyepiece you achieve a gigantic FOV of 6.6° on the sky.

Features of the 50 mm ED telescope:
Advanced chromatic correction achieved by 2-element ED lens made of S-FPL53 glass.
Delicate and precise 1.25" helical focuser with 1.25" receptacle and T2 thread connection for cameras and autoguiders
Generous backfocus of 20 mm and, after removing the 40 mm extension, even 60 mm. By doing this, even DSLR cameras can be used.
High quality finder holder with 6 adjustment screws for perfect aligment. The screws tips are made of Nylon to prevent scratches.
The finder shoe adpter fits any customary finder shoe by Vixen, Skywatcher, Celestron, TS-Optics and similar models.
The dovetail bar fits Vixen style saddle plates.
With only 800 g this telescope is only marginally than a normal 8x50 finder scope and won´t unbalance your telescope.
A 1.25" stop ring permits optimal autoguider calibration when using a widefield eyepiece. This allows for optimal gauging of Autoguider and eyepiece whilst staying at perfect focus.

Using 1.25" star diagonal
When the 40 mm extension is removed, an optional 1.25" star diagonal can be attached and you can get into focus with 1.25" Plössl or RK eyepieces. With extreme wide angle eyepieces it can be tight, these are to be used only straight-sighted (without star diagonal).

"I plan to use the product both as a guide scope and also as a wide field refractor given that it has ED optics. It has a very good build quality, a good helical focuser and excellent optics at this price point. I would recommend the product to anyone wanting a high-quality guide scope or wishing to start wide field deep sky imaging at a very reasonable cost. However, the dedicated field flatner or the one supplied by Starizona is necessary for imaging because the scope has very noticeable field curvature. "

"Perfekt zum Guiden"

Ein Guidescope von hoher Qualität, sowohl optisch als auch mechanisch. Dazu vielfältig montierbar, mit Prismenschiene oder als Sucher. Der Fokuspunkt ist feinfühlig einstellbar. Allerbest.
