DayStar Sol 100 mm H-Alpha Solar Telescope

The telescope was developed by Daystar for observing and photographing the sun in H-alpha light (656.28 nm). It allows observation of the sun´s surface, such as filaments and flares, as well as observation of solar prominences.

With an aperture of 100 mm and an effective focal length of 1690 mm (f/16.9), the telescope delivers sharp, full-field images of the sun with excellent resolution. The integrated 4.3x telecentric Barlow lens is optimized for hydrogen alpha transmission and ensures uniform illumination across the entire field.

An 18 mm diameter blocking filter and a PID-controlled electronic tuning system ensure stable and precise wavelength control. Manual fine adjustment is possible with a range of ±0.5 Å in steps of 0.1 Å, allowing you to choose between emphasizing the chromosphere and the prominences.

The two-stage 12:1 rack and pinion focuser developed by DayStar ensures smooth and precise focusing. It has a locking brake and is compatible with focusing motors such as the EAF from ZWO thanks to 6 mm and 4 mm shafts and three M4 mounting holes. The diameter of the fine focus cone is 34 mm when both knobs are removed.

The CNC-machined aluminum optical tube has a lockable, retractable dew shield and an integrated carrying handle that also serves as solar finder.
