TS-Optics GSO 10" f/7.9 RC Ritchey-Chrétien Telescope
TS-RC Telescope for Astrophotographers
Are you looking for a good telescope for astrophotography? THE TS-Optics Ritchey-Chretien telescopes give you the quality you need for your astrophotography. They offer you a large and coma-free field of view, perfect for round stars to the edge. almost all large telescopes are RC systems; use the technology of the pros!

Hyperbolic mirrors for higher image quality
RC telescopes have hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors, making them superior to other systems in imaging quality.

Professional technology becomes your advantage
Better and sharper astrophotos with a larger usable field than other telescope types - for full frame sensors even without a corrector! Until a few years ago, this technique was reserved for professional applications; now it is within reach of every amateur astronomer.

Photographing without corrector
Use your DSLR or astro camera on the TS-RC telescope. You don´t need a corrector for coma-free and sharp stars to the edge of the field of view. Even full frame sensors can be used without any corrector optics. All professional DSLR cameras and countless astro cameras are compatible. And should you ever wish to shoot with a medium format camera, ask us for the right solution.

Main mirror made of quartz
As an experienced astrophotographer, you have probably already experienced this: When taking long exposures, the focus position changes and the image becomes blurred. Annoying and a pity for the lost time! Your advantage with the TS-RC telescope: two quartz mirrors. These are almost insensitive to temperature changes and keep the focus and thus the fantastic image quality stable for hours.

Steel tube for stable focus and apertures for high contrast
Besides good mirrors, the steel tube plays a crucial role when it comes to good imaging. Compared to an aluminum tube, a steel tube causes a 50% reduction in focus shift. Precisely placed stray light diaphragms ensure high contrast.

Large clear aperture: 3" eyepiece focuser
The eyepiece focuser is especially important: a ball-bearing 3" linear Crayford focuser gives you enough diameter to illuminate even large-format image fields without vignetting. The TS-RC telescope´s focuser gives you the smoothness of a Crayford focuser and the stability of a good Rack&Pinion focuser.

The benefits:
Always the right object alignment: the focuser is fully rotatable.
Reduction to 2" and 1.25" with integrated spring ring clamp
Find the exact focus sensitively: 1:10 reduction for minimal focus adjustment
Graduated scale: to help you find the focus quickly
High stability: no tilting - so the camera sits exactly on the optical axis and the image stays sharp

No shifting problem with TS-RC telescopesTelescopes with main mirror focusing often suffer from the shifting problem. The image shifts or even jumps when focusing. Meade and Celestron have the problem under control, but the effect is still noticeable. TS RC telescopes do not have this problem, because the primary mirror is fixed. The focusing is done by a high quality focuser. An additional advantage is the optimal distance between main and secondary mirror. This gives you the guarantee of the best possible imaging. If the main mirror shifts to the secondary mirror, you will practically never have the optimal distance.

Other advantages over other types of telescopes
First, an RC telescope is designed completely differently than a classic SC or Maksutov telescope. Without a correction plate, it is an open system that adapts to the ambient temperature faster than closed telescopes. As a mirror-only system, image errors that can occur at glass elements in the optical path are eliminated from the outset.
Ritchey-Chretien systems are the most highly corrected two-mirror telescopes. The field and edge sharpness is impressive. It is no wonder that practically all large research telescopes in professional observatories use this principle.

Adjusting the RC telescope
We recommend the TSRCKOLLI or an collimating telescope for adjusting the telescope. These tools are linked in the "Cleaning & Collimating" section.

"Gutes Teil. Musste noch ein wenig justiert werden. Ist aber normal bei RC Teleskopen. "
