TS 6" f/5 ONTC Newtonian Telescope - a well thought-out Telescope for Mobile Use
The strengths of this telescope are its versatility and compact dimensions. This makes the ONTC6 the ideal telescope for mobile use, be it for astrophotography or even for observing. The Newtonian is still supported by compact mounts, such as the Skywatcher EQ5.
Three focus positions provide flexibility:
By moving the primary mirror cell, you can freely determine the focus position above the 2" receptacle. Different correctors also give you different focal lengths.
Pos. 1 - Astrophotography with normal coma correctors - about 60 mm above the 2" receptacle (middle primary mirror position)This version is optimal for all coma correctors with 55 mm working distance, like the Baader MPCC corrector, the TS Maxfield coma corrector or the GPU corrector. For visual observation you need a 2" extension tube - item no. TSV235.
Pos. 2 - Astrophotography with the TS 2" Reducer/Corrector (shortest position)The primary mirror is at the shortest position to the secondary. This version is optimized for the TS 0.73x reducer/corrector. The focal ratio changes from f/5 to f/3.65 due to the reducer.
Pos. 3 - Visual Observation and Paracorr (longest position)This version is for stargazers who want to use the telescope for visual observation. Also the 2" Paracorr VIP-2010 can work very well with this focus position. The focal ratio changes from f/5 to f/5.75.
The 2" TS UNCN2-G2 RAP focuser:
A core piece of this TS ONTC Newtonians is the modern TS UNCN2-G2 focuser. The focuser extends only 58 mm from the edge of the tube and still carries heavy cameras and accessories without tilting.
High rigidity with extremely short overall length exact 1:10 dual-speed reduction - with it perfectly focused astrophotographs are possible Upgradable with motor focus - with the TS motor focus advantage: manual adjustment possible with attached focuser Screw connection of the accessories possible - the 2" connection can be unscrewed, then an M54x0.75 internal thread is available.More information about the focuser UNCN2-G2Assembly and collimation instructions
The telescope is delivered disassembled into several units for safety. The assembly and adjustment are not complicated, you can download the instructions in advance. The PDF can be found
