Skywatcher EVOSTAR 100 ED - 100/900 mm ED Apo with Case & Accessories
EVOSTAR ED Refractors by Skywatcher offer good performance for either visual observers and astro photographers also. The optical quality makes these models a reference for their class. The objective features extra low dispersion glass (FPL53) from Ohara, Japan. This design, together with the not too short focal length, allows a correction of the chromatic aberration to a minimum that is no longer disturbing, while using only two elements. The result is on the one hand high-contrast and sharp observations and photographs, on the other hand little mass and therefore little weight and a fast cooling down.
Very elegant design: Not only a look through this telescope fills with enthusiasm, but also the elegant finish convinces. The OTA itself has shimmering black paint, the focuser, tube rings and parts of the dewshield are cream white.

Each air-to-glass lens surface has been coated by Sky-Watcher´s proprietary MHC. An anti-reflection metallic coatings which ensure optimum light-transmission approaching 99.5%.
Light-Baffled Optical Systems
The objective lens cell of this 100/900 Black Diamond ED Doublet OTA is light-baffled to reduce stray & unfocused light to insure optimum contrast. The interior of the tube is flat blackened to prevent unfocused internal light reflections from reaching the focal plane.
2" Crayford focuser with 1:11 transmission
An Evostar´s special feature is the stable 1:11 dual-speed Crayford focuser. It allows very fine focusing what is especially important for astro photography.
2" star diagonal mirror, dielectrically coated
The large star diagonal mirror allows the use of 2" eyepieces for a larger field of view and a large exit pupil - making extended emission nebulae a visual pleasure.
High performance telephoto lens
The very good optical performance can (for astro photography) be further enhanced by installing the optional TS field flattener (linked below). It makes this telescope a high-performance astro imager with exceptional definition over the full field without vignetting.
