Skywatcher Skyliner 200P Flextube Dobsonian (Deluxe Edition)

Skywatcher has advanced the Dobsonian telescope with its new Skyliner series.
Skywatcher has advanced the Dobsonian telescope with its new Skyliner series.
The entire tube can be collapsed. This gives the Dobsonian ultra-compact dimensions for both transport and storage. Once you arrive at your observation site, all you need to do is extend the tube again, and within seconds you´ll have a fully operational and aligned telescope. Even when fully extended, the telescope maintains a high degree of rigidity.

Skyliner 8" FlexTube Dobsonian:
An 8" aperture is considered the entry point into serious deep-sky observing. At this aperture and larger, many nebulae and galaxies reveal their structure, and fine details become visible. Nevertheless, the telescope remains highly portable. It fits easily even in small cars.

Positioning the SKFXD8:
Positioning the SKFXD8 is very easy and intuitive. The horizontal and vertical adjustment happens through bush bearings. At every position the optics stay at their place. You only have to move the telescope, leave it and you are able to observe. The adjustment of the altitude decrees through a so called "Tension Control". So you are able to adjust the clearance of the adjustment of altitude and also to lock the telescope.

The 2" dual-speed focuser:
The Dobsonian comes equipped with a smooth running and accurate 2" focuser with an adapter for 1.25" equipment. The focuser has a 10:1 speed reduction (difference to standard version and Enhanced Standard Edition with single speed!), allowing for very precise focusing, even with heavy eyepieces. With this focuser, you can use powerful 2" eyepieces, which offer you a very bright image and a gigantic field of view. Of course, all 1.25" eyepieces can also be used.

The FlexTube System - ideal for transport:
In just seconds, the Dobson can be retracted for transport and stowed away. The tube remains a compact unit, and the optical elements are optimally protected. When retracted, the tube is only 84 cm long. If necessary, the tube can also be removed from the rocker box.
