Lunt LS40THa - complete H-Alpha Solar Telescope for Observation and Photography

The LS40THa allows for solar observation and photography in the H-alpha band. It is a true "grab-and-go" telescope that reveals the details of the chromosphere, prominences, and filaments that make H-alpha observation so rewarding. The complete, ready-to-use telescope is stored in a case. All you need is a camera tripod or a small tracking mount.

What You´ll See:

Point the LS40THa at the Sun and you are looking at the chromosphere: the dynamic layer where solar activity plays out in real time. Prominences arc off the limb in vivid detail, some towering tens of thousands of kilometers above the surface. Filaments, the dark sinuous channels of suspended plasma, thread across the disk. Active regions glow with the concentrated magnetic energy that drives solar flares. At 33x magnification through the 12-mm eyepiece, you will resolve individual prominence structures, trace filament paths across the solar disk, and watch active regions evolve over the course of a single observing session. This is the Sun as it actually behaves: alive, dynamic, and constantly changing.

Photographing the Sun with the LS40THa:

Of course, you can also photograph the sun. The blocking filter also features a T2 thread on the eyepiece side for attaching cameras. The solar disk has a diameter of 4 mm at the focal point. The sun should therefore be precisely centered, and we recommend using a tracking system to keep the sun exactly in the center. For solar photography, we recommend cameras with a 1.25" connection.
