TS 130 mm f/5 Flatfield Apo for Astrophotography
This apochromat offers chromatically very well corrected optics and the best possible field correction. The objective is optimized for very good chromatic correction without compromise. The sphere is also very good. The Ronchi test reveals almost straight lines, even in autocollimation. This means that the apo is designed for observation up to the highest magnification range of around 550x.
For astrophotography, a 0.8x full-frame corrector was developed especially for this objective. The 4-element corrector provides very good imaging quality throughout the field. Even with high-resolution full-frame sensors, such as ZWO´s ASI6200 camera, the stars will remain pinpoint at the edge.
The idea behind the TSAPO130FLAT:
Until now, you have always had to compromise with flatfield optics, sacrificing some sharpness on the axis in favor of good field sharpness. Or you take a "general corrector" and try to achieve the best possible field correction by adapting distances. The result is a compromise, usually a good one, but still a compromise.
The concept behind this apo avoids the compromise, because the 130 mm f/6.25 objective is optimized for highest sharpness on the axis. And the corrector is optimized only for this objective. Four elements were necessary to make the high sharpness available to you in the entire field.
This is how we hand over the apo to the amateur:
Every single apo is checked in our technical department before it is put into storage, in order to guarantee a consistently high product quality.
The mechanics are tested and the focuser is optimally adjusted. The lens is cosmetically checked and cleaned. We also check that all counter screws are correctly tightened. These often loosen during transportation. The optics are collimated and the result is checked on the optical bench. The telescope is given a serial number. An optical test is carried out, which is enclosed with the telescope (star images and Ronchi image on the optical bench in autocollimation). Only then are the telescopes handed over to the warehouse and prepared for dispatch.Technical Information
