ASKAR FRA 600 108 mm f/5.6 Quintuplet Astrograph
ASKAR is the new line of selected telescopes for astrophotography. With these telescopes a high attention is paid to the optical, but also mechanical quality. FRA stands for refracting telescopes with integrated corrector element for a flat and corrected image field. The FRA series is mainly used for astrophotography.

Link to AstrobinThe ASKAR FRA600 is a 5-element apochromat according to Petzval with 600 mm focal length and the focal ratio f/5.6. The aperture is 108 mm. The triplet lens contains two special glasses for an image free of chromatic aberration. The 2-element corrector is permanently installed in the tube and corrects an image circle up to 66 mm in diameter. As soon as your camera is in focus, you are automatically at the correct distance.
A photo specialist that is also suitable for observation:
The ASKAR FRA600 was designed for astrophotography. However, due to the comfortable working distance, 2" star diagonals can also be attached. Thus the astrograph becomes a very nice telescope for astronomical observation and also landscape observation. All common 2" and 1.25" accessories can be connected. For photography a long adapter is included, with which all common cameras can be connected via the M48 thread.
Increasing the speed to f/3.9
The focal ratio of f/5.6 is already relatively fast. But often one wishes for even faster optics. With the optional AS108RED you can increase the speed from f/5.6 to f/3.9 and halve the exposure time. The focal length is shortened to 421 mm.
Quality assurance at Teleskop-Service:
Every FRA600 is checked and optimized before being stored in our technical department. The focuser is adjusted, the screws are checked for tightness and the lens is collimated. A final test is carried out on the optical bench. The whole process is recorded in a checklist.
