Skywatcher Evostar-90 on EQ2 - Refractor Telescope on equatorial Mount
This refractor fulfils all conditions necessary for an astronomical instrument of good quality. Mechanical workmanship and the features included fulfill higher expectations. Fun and joy in astronomy are offered by a solidly built and easy to use setup.
The EQ2 equatorial mount with the height adjustable aluminum tripod is a particular solid base for this refractor. The mount allows even basic photography. The Skywatcher refractor is a reasonable instrument for the higher class start into observational astronomy.
The main advantages of the BKR 90/900 mm at a glance:
multi-coated doublet lens for high contrast and definition solid metal 1,25" focuser, integrated finder shoe direct photo connection by T2 threadDetails
Multi-coated objective: The achromatic lens with practice-oriented focal length has high sharpness and good contrast - important for all fields of observation.
Metal focuser and 6x30 finder: A solid metal focuser with lock screw deals even with heavy equipment, allowing a smooth focus operation. The 6x30 finder is also coated, offers a clear image and can be easily adjusted.
Sturdy German mount EQ2: This mount offers a nice base for observation and photography with height-adjustable aluminium tripod and solid accessory tray. Due to the equatorial design, it is sufficient to turn
one axis to compensate the earth rotation. A motorized tracking system is optional.
Observing with the Evostar90:
Moon: The multi-coated achromatic doublet shows already fine details on the lunar surface. In many cases the instrument shows you everything the air turbulence permits. Even larger scopes would not show much more under those conditions.
Solar system: The planets of the solar system show off many detail. So Jupiter shows the Great Red Spot, which is a giant cyclon. Or watch the shadows of the Galilean moons cast onto the planet.
Stars and nebulae: 90 mm aperture collect already 225x more light than the unaided human eye. So you will be able to see already several thousands of nebulae and galaxies, and brighter nebulae will show off first details.
Photography: The BKR 90/900 offers already several features to start photography. The tube bears already a direct T2 thread, allowing the use of it at an SLR camera adapted with a specific T2 ring. This converts the tube into a high resolution telephoto lens of 900 mm focal length.
