ONTC Newtonian Telescopes from Teleskop-Service are a unique system on the market.
You choose the components and the bias of your telescope and get a Newtonian telescope with which you are guaranteed to reach your astronomical goals - simply a telescope without compromises. We are happy to help you with the configuration.
Just tell us what you want to do with the telescope and we will create a complete custom concept according to your wishes. The ONTC Newtonian with 350 mm aperture and 1600 mm focal length:This Newtonian is optimal for high resolution lunar and planetary observation and for fulfilling deep-sky observations and of course astrophotography. It is a true all-rounder.
We recommend a larger mount for the 14" ONTC, like the EQ8, if astrophotography is planned. The Newtonian is a classic observatory and garden telescope.
The advantages of the ONTC Newtonian telescopes at a glance:
Optimal configuration for astrophotography or observation by free choice of focuser, focus position or secondary. Later change of the secondary mirror possible without any problems. Only selected optics are used and before shipment the entire combination is tested once again on the optical bench for correct imaging and also whether the desired focus position is achieved. Each ONTC Newtonian telescope comes with a complete manufacturing protocol including star test. The side edge of the secondary mirror is blackened to prevent stray light and reflections. The carbon tube comes from Germany. It is manufactured in a carbon hard foam sandwich construction for optimum stiffness at low weight. The carbon tube gives the telescope optimal temperature properties. Practically no refocusing is necessary for astrophotography, the focus is held well. Primary mirror cell and secondary mirror cell made of metal are also manufactured in Germany. The complete collimation of the telescope can be done without tools. One telescope, different focal lengths! By using different correctors, you can achieve different focal lengths. The correctors always demand a different focus position above the focuser. The ONTC tube offers you three possibilities for mounting the primary mirror cell.TS "Black" anti-reflective paint for maximum contrastMany of our UNC and all ONTC Newtonian telescopes use the TS Optics "Black" anti-reflective paint. It darkens the inside of the tube just as well as velour film. The image shows how dark the anti-reflective paint is. The diagram (at the top of this page) shows the direct comparison between the commonly used chalkboard paint and the anti-reflective paint.
Choose a suitable focuser in the "options" list:
The free choice of the focuser makes the ONTC Newtonians unique. Thus you can easily adapt your new telescope optimally to your wishes. Please do not forget to select the base for attaching the focuser to the tube. You can choose from our whole range. A few recommendations are given below:
UNCN2-G2 - TS 2" UNC Newtonian Crayford focuser - shortEconomically priced 2" Crayford focuser for observing and photography with DSLR cameras. The short focuser needs only 75 mm optical path.
Item number of the necessary base: BAST-UNCN2G2 - please add to your order.FTF2008BCR - Starlight Feather Touch 2" focuser - 20 mm draw tube travelThe best 2" focuser we know, for maximal stability without compromises. In addition, the focuser is very short, together with the base, it is only 50 mm heigh.
Item number of the necessary base: BA20CL-356mm - please add to your order.Orion ACU-3S 3" Crayford focuser with M82x1 threadThe massive 3" focuser is our recommendation for astrophotographers who want to work with a 3" Newtonian corrector (N-AGK3, TS 3" Wynne or TeleVue VIP-3010.) These correctors are screwed to the M82 thread of the focuser.
Item number of the necessary base: NB355-ORACU3 - please add to your order.Starlight FTF3215B-A TRUE 3" focuser with 2" and 3" clampingThe ultimate Newtonian focuser. Only Starlight creates a 3" clamping with Feather Touch that is as good as screwed. Ideally suited for all 3" coma correctors.
Item number of the necessary base: BA32CL-358 - please add to your order. We recommend three focus positions above the receptacle of the focuser:
Pos. 1 - Astrophotography with standard coma correctors - 65 mm above the 2" receptacle (STANDARD version)This version is optimal for all coma correctors with 55 mm working distance, such as the Baader MPCC corrector, the TS coma corrector, the GPU corrector or the ASA Quattro corrector. For visual observation, you need a 2" extension tube - item no. TSV235.
Pos. 2 - Astrophotography with the ASA 2" reducer/corrector - 90 mm above the 2" receptacleThis version is optimized for the ASA Reducer/Corrector ASA2KORRR. The focal ratio changes from f/4.6 to f/3.3 due to the reducer.
Pos. 3 - Visual observation and Paracorr - 35 mm above the 2" receptacleThis version is for stargazers who want to use the telescope for visual observation. For this version we recommend the secondary with 58 mm minor axis. Also the 2" Paracorr VIP-2010 can work very well with this focus position.
The focus positions are achieved by different positions of the primary mirror. We can gladly offer you additional or other positions of the focus. For example if you use 2.5" or 3" correctors. The three recommended ones have proven to be optimal from our experience.
Further freely selectable parts of the ONTC Newtonian telescope:
When you order through the webshop, on the page where you select the payment method, you have a text field "Information about the order", there you can enter your selection. Of course you can also inform us by e-mail. E-mail address: info@teleskop-service.de
Tube rings or dovetail bar directly connected to the tube - no change of the price:
The basic equipment includes tube rings with a flat support surface on both sides. On request and at no extra charge, we can attach a dovetail bar for Vixen or Losmandy style quick couplers directly to the tube instead of the tube rings. In this case, the tube is reinforced at this point by laminated solid material.
Assembly and collimation instructions:
The telescope is delivered disassembled into several units for safety. The assembly and adjustment are not complicated, you can download the instructions in advance. The PDF can be found
here.
