TeleVue Eyepiece Apollo 11 mm, 1.25" and 2"

For young Al Nagler, NASA´s Apollo programme was the start of a brilliant career as an optical designer. As an employee of the Farrand Optical Company, he was tasked with developing an optical system for the lunar module simulator. Neil Armstrong and his crew used this simulator to practise their approach and landing on the moon´s surface.

As part of this work, Al Nagler developed the design of the Nagler eyepiece, which is still very popular today. After developing the simulator, Al Nagler founded Tele Vue, which still develops and manufactures the best eyepieces available on the market today.

To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing, Tele Vue is now offering this special limited edition eyepiece!

The eyepiece comes in a very attractive gift box with a personal message from Al Nagler and an Apollo 11 commemorative coin. Like the eyepiece, the coin is limited and numbered (numbers 004 to 303).
