With the Boren-Simon PowerNewton, you can capture deep astro images in just one night, where normally many nights would be required.
And these images show excellent star sharpness without reflections thanks to the professional NEXUS Reducer corrector. Collect enough raw material in just one night for a truly definitive image of the object!

The advantages of the 8" f/3 PowerNewton:
Short exposure times thanks to f/3 - also ideal for uncooled DSLR cameras
Moderate exposure times with narrow-band nebula filters - ideal for use near cities
Excellent field sharpness thanks to professional NEXUS reducer/corrector
High mechanical rigidity due to carbon tube
Overall length only 790 mm, weight only 7.6 kg - this will still be carried easily by portable mounts
Solid 2" UNCN2-G2 dual-speed RAP focuser - supports DSLR and astro cameras without tilting
Working distance 55 mm from the M48 thread of the corrector - easy adaptation
Illumination (with FLAT) and correction up to APS format
Suitable for motor focus, e.g., ZWO EAF

Switch from fast f/3 to high-resolution f/4 in just a few minutes with the TSGPU coma corrector:
One telescope, two focal lengths - this is also possible with the Boren-Simon astrograph. With the optional TSGPU Aplanatic Coma Corrector, which is optimised for f/4 systems, you can turn the fast f/3 astrograph into a high-resolution, astrophotographically corrected Newtonian telescope with a focal ratio of f/4 and a focal length of 800 mm.

The conversion takes just a few minutes and the collimation remains completely intact. The focus position on the Boren-Simon is optimized for the NEXUS reducer corrector at approximately 60 mm above the 2" receptacle of the focuser. For the GPU, we recommend the 2zKonter spacer ring. The counter ring is pushed over the GPU and fixed about 25 mm below the camera side M48 thread. The GPU is thus only partially pushed into the focuser.
You automatically have a good position for the corrector on the focuser and do not need an extension tube.
The long body of the corrector does not protrude into the tube.

The illumination of the Boren-Simon Astrograph:
The secondary mirror on the Boren-Simon is optimized to fully illuminate a field lens of the corrector. Whether this is the GPU or the NEXUS Reducer is not relevant. In both cases, the illumination is limited by the corrector itself (diameter of the scope-side lens - distance to the sensor). Every Boren-Simon therefore works well with the GPU. A flat is of course always necessary.
