Experience the joy of observation with the high-quality 6" Dobsonian from GSO
Observe the largest whirlwind known to mankind, the Great Red Spot on Jupiter. Look at the rings of Saturn and spot the Cassini separation, which gives you an idea of the true structure of Saturn´s rings. Enjoy the light-gathering power of these high-quality parabolic optics and see the spiral arms of galaxies or the nebulae of places where stars are formed.
These observing successes are possible from the very first night because the manufacturer has not only equipped the GS580 with first-class, diffraction-limited optics, but also with solid mechanics. This is precisely why this telescope is also very suitable for beginners, as it is very easy to operate. The high-quality optics from GSO of course also offer good performance in the highest magnification range, for the moon and planets. Enjoy high-resolution observation, which in practice is only limited by the quality of the air.
The 2" Crayford focuser from GSO: The focuser is clearly superior to simple focusers with gear drive.
no wobbling when focusing (shifting) significantly more robust - up to 3 kg weight 1:10 micro reduction for even more precise focusing ring clamp for 2" and 1.25" accessories for a good grip and precise on-axis positioning
The altitude bearing of the GSO Dobsonian: A new, more effective solution has been found for the altitude bearing. A stable steel axle carries the entire tube weight. Adjustment takes place via two CNC-machined surfaces - precisely and without lateral slippage. You can also adjust the friction using a large knurled screw on each side - from ultra-light to high resistance. This allows you to prevent the device from moving, for example under high wind loads.
Balance adjustment: You can precisely adjust the balance of the Dobsonian. For example, if you want to use a heavier 50mm finder instead of the 6x30 finder or if you want to use a heavy binoviewer on the focuser ... no problem - simply adjust the position of the altitude wheel to the rocker box - precise scaling ensures that you have the same position on each side.
The roller bearing for the horizontal adjustment: A simple Teflon bearing, as used by the manufacturer in the past, causes too tight an adjustment.
Especially when the telescope is pointed towards the zenith, the lever effect is so unfavorable that fine adjustment is almost impossible.
The modern industrial roller bearing allows very sensitive adjustment. Metal plates above and below the bearing prevent the rollers from pressing into the soft laminate. This means that the adjustment remains consistent even after many years.
Manuals
There is a German manual (PDF file), it can be downloaded
here. The pictures can be found in the English manual, the PDF file can be downloaded

Once the assembly is complete, the adjustment has to be done, for which there is also a German manual in PDF format. It can be downloaded
here. There are also instructions in German for the Crayford focuser, the PDF file is available
