Orion UK 300 mm f/4 IDEAL Newtonian, OTA

With 300 mm aperture, the large IDEAL Newtonian is a powerful telescope for observatories. Thanks to its lightweight construction (weight only 14 kg), the Newtonian can also be used on the move with suitable mounts. The telescope will fit in the back seat of your car.

Suitable mounts would be, for example, the EQ6 from Skywatcher or the CGEM or CGX from Celestron. We do not recommend compact harmonic drive mounts for this telescope, because the dimensions of the Newtonian mean that the area exposed to wind is relatively large. Mounts with a higher weight are therefore more suitable.

All IDEAL models are fitted with a straight 50 mm finder, a quality 2" R+P focuser and 1.25" (31.7 mm) smooth lock adaptor. An aluminium tube allows the IDEAL telescopes to be fitted to mounts easily because of the lower weight involved. Precision, fan cooled, 9 multi point suspension mirror cell gives perfect support and cooling to the main mirror allowing the accuracy of the mirror to be maintained when cooling and controlling the weight distribution with the nylon support points.

Probably the best telescope range which will give some of the best images possible in a serious introductory telescope. A must for any amateur astronomer whether you´re starting out in the hobby or a seasoned enthusiast.
