The compact and fast rich-field refractor BKR1206 has a powerful and multi-coated objective with 120mm diameter. Compared with a 100mm (4") system, it gathers 44% more ligh thus allowing the observation of fainter objects with high contrast. Nevertheless, the OTA is with 50cm length and 3.9kgs highly transportable.

The BKR1206's advantages:

The EQ-3 mount:
The German equatorial mount EQ-3 is a solid base for this refractor. An equatorial mount allows very easy celestial observations. A coarse polar alignment is enough for visual purposes and the telescope can track the stars by operating the R.A. knob only. Additionally, objects can be centeres easily at high magnifications.
