TS-PHOTON 305/1220 mm Newtonian Telescope with Carbon Tube - OTA
With this Newtonian from the TS-PHOTON series, astrophotography will be easy for you. This astrograph offers you speed due to the focal ratio of f/4 and thus short exposure times. Of course, with the TS SUPERFLAT we also offer you the suitable coma corrector. This turns this PHOTON Newtonian into a very good astrograph.

Dive deep into the world of deep sky observation with the PHOTON 12" f/4. The large aperture and the forced reflectivity of 94% offer unforgettable observations beyond the solar system. Observe exciting details, such as spiral arms in galaxies or fine structures in planetary nebulae.

We recommend the TS-PHOTON 305 mm f/4 to all star enthusiasts looking for a fast telescope for astrophotography and deep sky observation. The telescope is supported by mounts like the Skywatcher EQ6 or the Celestron CGEM, but those who want reserves should rather go for the CGX or EQ8.

The advantages of the carbon tube
The TS-PHOTON Newtonian comes with a high quality carbon tube. Besides the weight advantage of about 3 kilograms, the main advantage is the better stability of the focus during temperature changes. This is important for astrophotography. When temperatures drop, metal contracts and the focus moves. A readjustment of the focus is necessary. The combination of tube and mirror makes it hardly necessary to readjust the focus, even with long exposures. The images become sharper.

General info and features of TS-PHOTON Newtonian telescopes:
Fast parabolic optics with excellent contrast and very good sharpness for planetary observing.
High quality 2" monorail focuser with 1:10 dual speed for 2" and 1.25" accessories.
Focal point position ideal for DSLR and other cameras.
All common 1.25" and 2" eyepieces can be used without problems.
Brighter image due to forced 94% reflectivity on primary and secondary mirrors.
Motorized focus can be retrofitted at any time.
A 0.5 mm thin stainless steel secondary spider provides stability. Astrophotographers will envy you for the razor-sharp spikes around bright stars.
Active primary mirror ventilation provides much faster cooling.
Adjustable primary mirror mount and secondary mirror cell made entirely of metal.

More joy in astrophotography through optimal field correction
Only a good coma corrector turns this Newtonian into a real astrograph. Our recommendation is the TSGPU corrector, which is made for this telescope. It will give you highest sharpness in the whole field. Only with the TSGPU (see accessory recommendations) this Newtonian becomes a real astrograph.

The working distance from the M48 thread is 55 mm. With a T-ring you are automatically at the right distance for astrophotography with DSLR cameras. Suitable adaptations for your astro camera can be offered at any time as part of our consulting service.

Introduction of the TS PHOTON series in video
A picture is worth a thousand words, a video is even more helpful - so TS made one:

Newton collimation made easy
Collimating a Newtonian telescope is not difficult at all, as the following video shows:
