Focal length reducer for the VSD90ss and VSD70ss telescopes with two ED lenses designed for high-end astrophotography

The two ED elements maximise the photographic performance of the VSD90ss and the VSD70ss, which are designed for both photography and visual observation. The reducer can illuminate an image circle of 44 mm (suitable for a 34x36 full-frame format).

The reducer has a very sophisticated design as it contains four elements in four groups, including 2 ED elements. Thanks to its larger lens diameter, it offers significantly improved image illumination compared to its predecessor, the smaller V0.79x reducer. The star distortion at the edges is also reduced to an absolute minimum.

The focal length of the VSD90ss or VSD70ss telescope is shortened to about 0.71x and the focal ratio is improved from f/5.5 to f/3.9. This results in a super-fast f/3.9 astrograph, capable of fully illuminating a full-frame DSLR camera.
