TS-Optics ToupTek SHO Filter Set, 1.25 Inch
Narrowband filters improve astronomical images of emission nebulae.
Emission nebulae emit in specific emission lines, such as the deep red [S II] (671.6 nm and 673.1 nm) lines, the red 656.28 nm H-alpha emission line and the blue-green [O III] (500.7 nm and 495.9 nm) lines. Narrowband filters only transmit these lines, thus reducing background. The objects often shine with different intensities in different spectral regions: The deep red light of the [S II] lines is often associated with H II regions where star formation has recently taken place. The red light of the H-alpha line is the most important line of emission nebulae of almost all kinds, especially H II regions. The blue-green light of the [O III] lines is emitted by many emission nebulae, but especially by planetary nebulae, supernova remnants and Wolf-Rayet nebulae.
Precise Wavelength Calibration
These 1.25-inch filters offer highly accurate wavelength calibration (tolerance of just ±0.3 nanometers), effectively filtering and enhancing specific wavelengths of light. They allow precise capture of particular emission lines or absorption spectral features of celestial bodies, ensuring accurate image reproduction and data integrity.
High Transmission and Anti-Reflective Coating
The filters´ surface is equipped with a high-transparency anti-reflective coating, with a transmission rate of over 90%. This effectively reduces both surface and internal reflections, minimizing halo effects and ensuring clear imaging. The filters are also polished with flat optical treatment to optimize performance.
IAD Coating Technology
The filters employ IAD (Ion-Assisted Deposition) coating technology, which provides a dense and wear-resistant coating, greatly enhancing the filters´ stability and durability. The high-strength coating ensures stable performance even after prolonged use.
The filters´ coating design is durable and resistant to wear, making it less likely to get scratched during regular cleaning. The optimized coating stress design avoids affecting the flatness of the optical substrate, ensuring filter accuracy and extending service life.
German SCHOTT Optical Glass Material
The filters are made from high-quality German SCHOTT optical glass with a thickness of 2 mm. They have been polished on both sides for a smooth and even surface, ensuring excellent optical performance. The filters are suitable for astronomical observation and imaging needs, guaranteeing high-quality image reproduction.
High-Quality Aluminum Alloy Cell, Widely Compatible with Electric Filter Wheels
The filters use a high-strength aluminum alloy cell, anodized and matte-treated for strong corrosion resistance, ease of handling, and durability. They are compatible with mainstream 1.25-inch electric filter wheels on the market, allowing users to flexibly pair and improve usability.
