SkyWatcher Newtonian Starquest-130P with manual equatorial mount
The Starquest-130P Newtonian telescope is ideal for beginners. It is easy to use and innovative. The manufacturer focuses on very high quality. The primary mirror is parabolic, which significantly improves contrast and sharpness. The telescope can magnify up to approximately 260x. The finest details on the surface of the moon can be observed, as well as structures on planets and the famous rings of Saturn. The fast optics also make the Newton suitable for nebulae, open star clusters, and galaxies. Thousands of objects beyond the solar system are waiting to be observed.

The Starquest mount
A special feature of Starquest telescopes is the innovative mount. It supports instruments weighing up to 3 kg with good stability and can be upgraded for astrophotography. The mount can be converted for azimuth use in just a few simple steps. The mount features precise worm gears on both axes for sensitive manual adjustment, allowing you to follow targets on Earth as well as in the sky with the flexible shafts.

The telescope is securely and conveniently clamped in place using a modern quick-release coupling. This allows you to easily detach the telescope from the mount for transport.

The Starquest mount also opens up the possibility of astrophotography. An optional motor, which is linked in the accessories section, compensates for the rotation of the Earth. The moon, planets, and even nebulae remain in the center of the image field even at high magnification, making them easy to observe and photograph.

The aluminum tripod is height-adjustable, so you can always adjust it to the ideal observation height. Thanks to the storage tray on the tripod, you always have a good place to store eyepieces, filters, and other accessories.

The Newtonian telescope with parabolic mirror
A 130 mm aperture collects 30% more light than a 114 mm aperture. This means that the device is correspondingly more powerful. Many thousands of galaxies and nebulae can already be observed successfully.

One advantage is the short focal length of the device. With the (optional) TS Super Plössl 32 mm, a true field of view of approx. 2.6° can be observed. That is more than 5x the full moon side by side. Very nice overview observations of large objects are possible.

The moon and planets are depicted much more sharply and with greater contrast through the parabolic mirror than through devices of the same aperture with a spherical primary mirror, even if they have a longer focal length. The Newtonian shows lunar craters and fine grooves on the moon, as well as the Cassini gap in the rings of Saturn under good observation conditions.

"Bisher mit dem Gerät gemessen am Preis vollauf zufrieden. Am Stadtrand mit entsprechender Lichtverschmutzung etc.zum offenen Fenster raus mal kurz Vesta gesucht und gefunden. Bin gespannt was da echt noch raus zu holen ist unter guten Bedingungen. 1 Stern Abzug für die Bedienungsanleitung. Ich hab sie zum Glück nicht gebraucht."
