The Skywatcher Star Discovery 150P is a well-designed beginner´s telescope and a portable instrument for all amateuer astronomers who like to observe. The GoTo telescope is a true all-rounder. The telescope offers excellent performance on moon and planets, but also enough light for nebulae, galaxies and star clusters.

Operating the telescope is very simple. Place the telescope on an appropriate surface (flat and not too soft), calibrate the computer using two stars, and the sky is already open to you. Now thousands of objects can be approached by pressing a button.

Information about the Star Discovery WIFI AZ Goto Mount

The easily portable altazimuth Skywatcher Star Discovery mount with SynScan WIFI module has been designed for the convenient wireless control with your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet computer with the freeware SynScan app.

The provided WIFI module etablishes its own WiFi network so the mount can be used everywhere, even without another existing WiFi network. After entering your coordinates into the app and following a simple alignment procedure, you are ready to explore the universe using the app´s intuitive touchscreen menu.

The SynScan app allows entirely computer controlled GoTo operation of the mount and position your telescope automatically on any object which you have chosen from the extensive database of the app with more than 10,000 objects.

The mount is equipped with the patented Skywatcher Freedom-Find Dual-Encoder Technology, which allows the telescope to be moved manually in either axis without the mount losing its positional information. This gives the user enormous freedom, convenience and flexibility during observational sessions.

The mount operates very quietly and has a maximum payload of 5 kg. The telescopes can be attached via a standard Skywatcher / Vixen style dovetail bar.

Important note about power supply:

To avoid loss of warranty, please use only the power supplies and mobile supplies recommended by us. Especially simple car batteries or sealed lead-acid batteries can lead to an under-supply, which can then damage the sensitive electronics of the mount.
