Celestron CGEM-II parallactic GoTo mount - mount head

The CGEM-II is the successor of the popular CGEM mount with some improvements. The mount has become even more stable. The CGEM II is excellent for astrophotography and carries telescopes up to 11" aperture, such as the EdgeHD 1100, without problems. The dual dovetail clamp allows you to mount any telescope with a Losmandy or with a Vixen-level dovetail bar.

Large easy-grip screws on the telescope clamp, as well as on the pole height adjustment, allow easy operation even with thick gloves. The pole height adjustment is designed to allow smooth adjustment even with maximum load.

Other advantages of Celestron´s CGEM II mount:

Built-in Celestron´s All-Star Polar Alignment for aligning the mount using any star. So you don´t need a polar finder, and you don´t have to contort yourself to align. You don´t even need a unobstructed view of Polaris!

The screw for setting the polar altitude is large and easy to grip. This is an important advantage, since polar altitude adjustment must be done under the load of the optics.

Large database of all popular DeepSky objects, cataloged by name and catalog number; the best known double, triple, and quadruple stars, as well as variable stars and solar system objects.

Permanently programmable Periodic Error Correction (PEC) - correction of periodic slug error.

Double-line 16-character LCD hand controller with backlit keys. Hand controller has USB port for easy connection to PC for firmware updates of mount and hand controller.

Can I work with a dual mount??

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
Yes, every Celestron GoTo mount can be used with a dual mount, where the telescopes are rotated 90°.

The software has the option (OTA Orientation), this menu item can be found either under Utilities or under Settings. There you can choose if the tube points to north (default) or to east or west when the mount is in the home position. You have the home position when the index marks are in line.
