Lacerta Professional Pier Adapter for Skywatcher EQ6, EQ8, Orion Atlas mounts
The pier adapter is not simply attached to a concrete plate, it is sunken into the concrete pier, being the optimal solution for a permanent installation in an observatory or in the garden. Four sturdy M16 threaded rods interconnect the three planes of the adapter.

Construction and installing of the pier adapter
The adapter consists of three levels or areas:
The lowest area is the stabilisator level, which is completely sunken into concrete from the cross to the lower surface of the middle plate. The cross, consisting of aluminium alloy, stabilizes the four threaded rods and anchors the whole structure in the concrete. The construction is similar to a metal structure in reinforced concrete, providing maximum stability.
The middle level is the covering area, the intermediate plate. This 10 mm thick plate of solid metal is already visible. After concreting in, the four nuts are still accessible.
The topmost level is the support area, the top plate, where the mount is connected to. The distance between support and middle area can anyone adjust to his needs before installation into the pier.

Before casting in concrete, you should decide how much of the lower area should be sunk in then concrete. We recommend sinking approximately 2/3 of the complete construction, leaving enough space for reaching the fastening screws of the mount from below.

I bought this for the observatory I am building. I installed it inside a concrete pier built using a drainage pipe. The entire process can be seen here: https://youtu.be/0gfsRHu6ghM. The adapter fits nicely in a 200cm pipe. Once I install the mount I´ll follow up with an update.

Der Adapter ist sehr stabil und qualitativ hochwertig verarbeitet.
Der Azimut Zapfen (im Paket enthalten) kann in verschiedene Gewindebohrungen verschraubt werden, passend für die angegebenen Montierungen.
Man sollte daran denken die passende Knebelschraube (M12 Gewinde in der Adapterplatte)
zur Befestigung der Montierung zu kaufen.
Da es ein Universal Adapter ist, ist keine beigelegt.

"The parts fit perfectly on my Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro mount. Can´t wait for the Pier´s cement to dry so I can mount the telescope permanently. I actually added 4 additional holes in the bottom plate to cement it to the pier, then 4 additional threaded rods join the upper plate, now I can level and adjust the height of the top plate more efficiently. "
