Sightron Quad Band Pass Nebula Filter M48x0.75 - 2" mount

The filter is exciting for all astrophotographers who are looking for a universal filter for almost all deep-sky objects, but for whom the contrast of a broadband nebula filter is not sufficient. The quad-band filter reliably suppresses stray light and allows exposure times that are many times longer than without a filter with a corresponding increase in contrast. This also makes it possible to take pictures of galaxies close to cities. The filter lets through all four wavelengths of interest for astrophotography (H-Beta, O-III, H-Alpha and S-II). The result is not only natural-looking nebulae and galaxies, the star colors are also reproduced well.

Is the Sightron Quad Band Pass a narrowband or broadband nebula filter?

The filter can be assigned to both categories. Its transmission band is significantly narrower than that of a typical broadband nebula filter, but with a bandwidth of around 50nm it is significantly wider than a narrowband filter. It bridges the gap between the two filter types. We at Teleskop-Service think that this filter is a very good universal filter for astrophotography, a filter for everything!

Halos around bright stars are suppressed

A modern anti-reflection coating suppresses the disturbing halos around bright stars. This means that the filter can also be used close to sensors, for example between the corrector and sensor.
