TS 1.25" neutral filter set in aluminium case

Grey filters or neutral filters offer a reduction in image brightness without changing the colors. This reduces overexposure effects and thus enhances contrast, for example when observing the moon or the planets. With this set, you now have a complete neutral filter set for all challenges.

Practical tip from TS: When using a Herschel wedge for solar observation, sometimes a polarizing filter is not sufficient to reduce the brightness to the desired value, or the polarizing filter changes its brightness too rapidly in the dark range.

With a neutral density filter, you can increase the effect of the ND3.0 filter, which is usually used together with the Herschel wedge, and thus reduce the amount of light to a value that can then be better handled with the polarizing filter. Simply try out which of the ND filters in this set provides the best result at the time of observation and with the eyepiece used.
