TS 100 mm f6 travel apo with 2-element objective
With the focal ratio of f/6, the apo is faster than simple EDs with usually f/7 to f/9. To still achieve a good chromatic correction, the ED special glass was supplemented with another special glass (lanthanum glass). This achieves a correction equivalent to a normal f/7 to f/8 ED refractor. The high luminosity also offers advantages for astrophotography, in only one night one can expose an object. Suitable image field correctors can be found under "Recommended Accessories".
All lens surfaces are coated with a multi-coating. Baffles inside the optical tube and in the focuser prevent reflections and ensure sharp and high-contrast images.
The apo has a stable dual-speed 2.7" focuser with ball bearing. This guarantees sensitive and precise focusing even with heavy accessories. In addition to 2" and 1.25" receptacles, the focuser also offers an M74x1 male thread for screw adaptations.
Astrophotography with the TS 100 mm f/6 apo
The fast apochromat is very well suited for astrophotography. The robust 2.7" focuser also supports heavy cameras, offers 360° rotation and has a dual-speed gear for precise focusing. We highly recommend the following correctors:
WiflatT2 - 1.0x correctorThe corrector is simply plugged into the 2" receptacle and is well suited for cameras up to APS-C format. The working distance is 55 mm from the T2 thread.
TSFLAT25G2 - 1.0x full frame correctorThe professional corrector is designed for full frame cameras. The M74-Flat25 adapter is required for connection to the apo. This allows you to screw the corrector directly to the focuser.
For the correct working distance (55 mm from the M48 thread), an 8 mm long M68x1 extension # TSVM688 is required.
TSRED379 - 0.79x focal length reductionTo all astrophotographers for whom f/6 is not fast enough, we offer a focal reducer/corrector. The focal ratio improves to f/4.74. For the connection to the apo, the adapter M74-FLAT25 is required. This allows you to screw the corrector directly to the focuser.
To achieve the correct working distance of 55 mm from the M48 thread, you still need 2x M48 tuning rings with 1 mm thickness (M48abstimmring1).
This is how we hand over the apo to the star lover:
Every single APO is checked in our technical department before it is put into storage, in order to guarantee a consistently high product quality.
The mechanics are tested and the focuser is optimally adjusted. The lens is cosmetically checked and cleaned. We also check that all counter screws are correctly tightened. These often loosen during transportation. The optics are collimated and the result is checked on the optical bench. The telescope is given a serial number. An optical test is carried out, which is enclosed with the telescope (star images and ronchi image on the optical bench in autocollimation). Only then are the telescopes handed over to the warehouse and prepared for dispatch.Technical Information
