CCD cameras place new demands on optics due to their higher resolution. Tele Vue has taken these requirements into account with the Imaging System "is". In addition to the proven optics, the instruments feature new mechanics that make successful astrophotography possible in the first place. The focuser, for example, is large and allows full illumination with excellent sharpness.

The Tele NP-127is is a compact 5" full apochromat. The four lenses are arranged in two groups (Petzval design). By using special glass, a colour-pure image is achieved with an absolutely flat field of view. The optics produce visually and photographically sharp images without colour errors. The oversized 2.4" focuser provides full illumination of sensors up to 50 mm diagonal.
