Vixen FL55ss Fluorite Refractor

Lightweight high-quality telescope for mobile astrophotography. Extremely sharp and bright stars to the edge of the full-frame size sensor (95% illumination within 44 mm image circle). With the optional flattener and focal reducers, the FL55SS turns into a fast f/4.3 astrograph. Flattener and reducer are linked in the accessories section.

For achieving good field correction for astrophotography, the optional flattener and corrector VI37252 is absolutely necessary. The corrector is threaded directly to the focuser. Important accessories for the flattener are the VI37251 reducer and of course adapters for DSLR and astro cameras.

Despite of the small aperture, the FL55SS delivers astonishingly clear views of moon and brighter planets if used with a high-resolution HR eyepiece. The focus is placed at a position also suitable for 1.25" star diagonal prisms or Amici prisms.

With the dovetail Slide Bar M you can adapt the apo also to GP/EQ5 style mounts. If you put a dovetail clamp between bar and photo tripod or telescope, you easily balance the apo, that makes sense with heavy accessories (camara, eyepieces, ...).
