Orion England is known for excellent optics. For years, this telescope manufacturer has also produced very good Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes. The OMC 140 impresses with its compact design, excellent mechanics and very good optical performance. The deluxe version impresses with an even better sharpness compared to the standard version thanks to the especially high-quality mirrors

The OMC 140 Deluxe is a compact telescope for observing and photographing moon, planets and deep sky objects. The instrument can be fitted with 2" eyepieces.

With the appropriate 2" eyepieces you will achieve a usable field of view of about 1.3 degrees. This is about 2.5 times the diameter of the full moon. This makes the OMC a real compact all-rounder with very good imaging quality.

The carbon fibre tube reduces the dead weight of the instrument and also offers optimum temperature stability combined with very high rigidity.

Maksutov telescope according to Gregory The OMC 140 is a Maksutov telescope with a Gregory design. The primary mirror is aspherical, an ellipsoid. This allows, compared to other designs, a better image on the optical axis and especially in the field. Each OMC 140 has hand-corrected optics. These features make the OMC 140 top of its class.
