Black Line Rich Field Refractor 80mm aperture / 400mm focal length on EQ1 mount ... a perfect instrument for travelling

In their new Black Line Skywatcher has put their well known optics in a more beautifully designed tube. The value for money is excellent.

A rich field telescope of this size is particularly compact and superbly suited for observing extended objects. The tube will fit into a compact camera case. The mount and tripod can also be disassembled into compact parts. For this reason the telescope is perfect for travelling.

Visual Use of the BKR 80/400mm
This telescope is a true Rich Field refractor. The instrument is ideal for low and medium magnifications and for very large fields of view. With the supplied 25 mm eyepiece you will see a field of almost 3° - more than what is offered by some binoculars! Contrary to binoculars you can go to much higher magnifications, making the telescope much more versatile.

Views of large objects are truly stunning. Once you have seen the beauty of the milky way or a large star cluster through this telescope you will never forget it again!

The short focal ratio and the resulting false colour is not ideal for viewing the planets, but with suitable filters you can still get some nice views of those objects as well.

Astro Imaging
The 80/400 mm refractor can also be used as a 400 mm f/5 telephoto lens. The integrated T2 adaptation allows you to attach all DSLR cameras. You will only need a T2 bayonet ring for your camera (see recommended accessories). For astro imaging the short focal length can be very convenient as it requires much less effort for tracking.

Metal 1.25" focuser
This telescope doesn´t only have a cheap plastic focuser, but a good quality 1.25" metal rack and pinion focuser. The focuser is solid enough to hold even heavy accessories without problems. The integrated T2 thread allows for easy camera adaptations.

EQ1 mount
The scope of delivery includes the compact EQ1 equatorial mount. Despite its compact size the EQ1 holds this small and light telescope with good stability. At the same time the mount is a lot more compact than other equatorial mounts, which is a huge benefit for a portable telescope like this!

The EQ1 offers slow motion controls in both axes. The RA axis can be motorized (optional).

"Gutes Teleskop zur allgemeinen Beobachtung am Sternenhimmel und Erdbeobachtungen. Für Anfänger empfehlenswert."

Perfect.
