TS-Optics secondary spider for 8" Newtonian telescopes
This high-quality secondary spider is designed for the discerning amateur astronomer who seeks perfection in secondary mirror positioning for absolute stability and a total absence of uncertainty about the position of the secondary cell.
This spider is made from the highest quality aluminum alloys, fabricated by CNC cutting and waterjet.
The adoption of these two manufacturing technologies combined results in a product of very high mechanical stability, while reducing weight and lowering the thickness of the spokes to just 1.5 mm; all machined from solid, from a single block of aluminum!

To install, simply remove the protective ring on the tube end, install the spider using the stainless steel screws provided as standard (and Teflon shims where needed), then replace the protective ring. The shims provided have a dual use: they are to be placed internally to the intubation, between it and the spider, in Skywatcher telescopes, in order to allow proper spacing between the optical tube and the secondary mirror spider; they are to be placed instead externally to the tube in some GSO-manufactured telescopes, in order to ensure that the tip of the installation screws for the spider do not protrude internally from the edge of the spider. Should neither of the situations described apply to your instrument, the shims may simply not be placed.
The low-profile design of the spider is designed specifically to allow the original tube protection end to be relocated in place, a valuable element both for transport and to provide added protection to the metal intubation and thus a virtually eternal life span for your instrument.

The spider also comes standard with a secondary rotation optimization system, which ensures that the secondary mirror can be correctly positioned at all times, without the constraints typical of GSO cells (equipped with predetermined positions for the secondary collimation screws), and without the limitations typical of Skywatcher cells (made of aluminum, and therefore affected by the problem of "seats" produced by the tip of the collimation screws). This ring-shaped element is made of high-strength steel; about 2 mm thick, it is specially treated to ensure no reflections and to prevent any kind of mechanical bending

{How to mount the secondary mirror spider:}]
Remove the front ring from your Newtonian.
Unscrew the secondary mirror with the secondary mirror spider from your Newtonian.
Remove the secondary mirror with the holder from the secondary mirror spider. The secondary mirror remains on the holder.
Screw the TS-Optics front ring with the secondary mirror spider to your Newtonian. The appropriate screws are included in the scope of delivery.
Attach the secondary mirror with the holder to the new spider using the screws supplied.
It is best to collimate the secondary mirror with an alignment laser.
Your improved Newtonian is now ready for observation or astrophotography.
