Sky-Watcher Equatorial Mount EQ5 with Travel Tripod
The mount is a solid base for telescopes up to 10 kg weight. For example, it can carry a Newtonian telescope or a Schmidt-Cassegrain up to 200 mm aperture or a refractor up to 150 mm aperture in a compact design. The mounting convinces above all by a good mechanical quality, such as ball bearing axes or precise worms. This and the optimal expandability allow the mount to grow with your requirements. The mount EQ5 is a purchase for the whole life. We see the EQ5 as an optimal mount for the upscale entry into astronomy. The EQ5 does not obstruct any future development possibilities, for example for astrophotography.*]

The EQ5 is very expandable
The EQ5 is THE standard for many accessory manufacturers. For this reason, there is a wealth of useful accessories for the mount, which we have linked to the accessories recommendations, such as for example:
Stepper motors with controls
GoTo motor system with control (SKGOTOKIT)
Optical and electronic polar finder scope
Dovetail bars and double mounts for astrophotography
Tripods, pier top (half pier), piers for fixed installation
Accessory holder for the counterweight rod

Aluminium tripod for easy transport
The mount convinces with an easy transport, the mount head weighs only about 4kg. The aluminum tripod weighs only 3.5 kg and holds the EQ5 with good stability. It can be extended up to 140 centimeters. When folded, it is only 90 cm short. A large storage plate stabilizes the tripod and provides good storage, for example for eyepieces or the controller.

Conversion into a stable astrotracker for air travel
A special feature of the EQ5 is the removable declination axis. All you have to do is loosen two screws. With the Photoguider upgrade, you can turn the EQ5 into a stable and precise astrotracker. The weight of the tracker is about 3 kg without tripod.
