U-Bessell: UV photometric filter in UBVRI series

B-Bessell: Blue photometric filter in UBVRI series

V-Bessell: Green (Visible) photometric filter in UBVRI series

R-Bessell: Red photometric filter in UBVRI series

I-Bessell: NIR photometric filter in UBVRI series

In contrast to the Johnson-Cousins system, the Bessell system is not based on photomultipliers, but on CCD sensors.
