The nebula filter passes H-Beta, O-III and H-Alpha and is designed for astrophotography.
IDAS nebula filters are produced in Japan The NB1-52 is supplied in a filter holder with M52x0.75 filter thread Exposure time factor 3 - three times the exposure time is possible before you reach the sky background. The filter is especially well suited for tricolor shots of nebulae with color cameras Scattered light and nightglow are effectively suppressed, leaving stars and sky background relatively neutral High-quality anti-reflection coating Scratch-resistant hard coating With 2.5 mm thickness the filter is parfocal to other IDAS filters The infrared light is blocked, so the filter also fulfills the function of an IR blocking filter.

IDAS NB filters from Hutech have been specially developed for astrophotography
The NB1 filter is a triple-line pass filter that can be used with one-shot color (OSC) cameras such as DSLRs, mirrorless system cameras, or astronomical OSC cameras.
The NB1 filter lets the red H-alpha line, the blue-green OIII lines and the also blue-green H-beta line pass through and increases the contrast. You get narrow-band images with only one exposure series. The resulting images can be used to enhance the contrast of traditional RGB images or to create images in various common false color palettes.
The most important features of IDAS NB1 nebula filter:
Stronger stray light suppression than with the LPS-P2 Lets H-beta, [O III], C2 (partially) and H-alpha through Suitability for trichromatic imaging of emission line objects Therefore especially suitable for gas nebulae Using an RG610 results in a 19 nm wide H-alpha filter. Suitable for comets (Swan bands) High-quality anti-reflection coating Particularly scratch-resistant hard coating Absorption of urban scattered light (mercury, sodium vapour lamps, ...) and night glow Blocks near infrared light, so an IR cut filter is therefore not necessary.
Exposure time extension - factor 3:
The IDAS NB1 allows an exposure time extension by a factor of 3, but allows the important lines in the deep-sky range (e.g. H-alpha and O-III) to pass 90%.
To put it simply, you can expose three times as long until the sky background comes through, but the object appears much stronger and more contrasty in front of the background than without a filter.
Difference NB1 - NB2 - NB3 Nebula Filters:
All three filters are suitable for color and monochrome cameras, DSLR and system cameras. A combination of these three filters allows extreme narrow-band images with mono and color cameras. NB1: Triple filter with transmission at H-Beta, O-III and H-Alpha. Furthermore, the filter blocks Near IR light, no additional IR cut filter is needed. The NB1 is the most versatile filter. We also recommend the filter for astromodified DSLR and system cameras. NB2: Dual band filter with transmission at O-III and H-alpha. The contrast effect is very strong. Since the filter does not block near IR light, an IR cut filter is necessary. The filter is well suited for color astrocameras with built-in IR-cut filter and for photography with pure reflecting telescopes without corrector, such as RC telescopes. NB3: Dual band filter with transmission at in O-III and S-II. The contrast effect is very strong. An IR cut filter is also necessary here. This filter is ideal for the photography of objects that radiate in the S-II range (sulfur). These nebulae often still have an O-III component.
