This "filter" protects the sensor of your camera from dust and moisture and maintains the full spectral sensitivity of the sensor even in the infrared.

With only reflective optics, infrared can be captured without loss of sharpness, so this window is a good choice if you don´t want to lose brightness.

Note: If you use optics with refractive elements such as lenses, an IR-blocking filter is a better choice.
