Astrodon Near Infrared L Filter, 1.25"

Many CMOS and also some CCD monochrome cameras are sensitive in the near infrared, sometimes even very strongly. This opens up new possibilities for astrophotography:

Examine photographically objects in the dust band of the Milky Way that remain hidden from visual view (e.g., IC342, Maffei Group).

Uncover stars and other details in nebulae that remain hidden in SII, [O III], etc.

- Mix NIR with RGB images to make faint stars more prominent
- Reduce the influence of light pollution, which is lower at high wavelengths than at low wavelengths.
