Baader 2" Neodymium Moon, Planet and Skyglow Filter
This filter is one of the best planetary filters we know. In the solar system, the filter offers a significant increase in contrast especially on Mars, Moon and Jupiter, but the filter is clearly more versatile. For example, it increases also the contrast of many deep-sky objects like planetary nebulae and diffuse nebulae. The filter can be used photographically without any restrictions.

Special features of the Baader Skyglow Neodymium filter:
Selective blocking dampens overexposure, but without suppressing important color and brightness differences
The transmission in the selected spectral ranges is more then 95%
Fits into all standard filter threads; can be combined for example with the fine-optically polished (!) Baader color filters for planetary observing. Thus details can be enhanced specifically or detailed planetary color images can be made with monochrome planetary cameras.
If used with digital cameras, stars and planets are shown significantly sharper, as the IR range is blocked
Fine-optically polished; can be used as single filter in front of a binoviewer or for afocal projection with digital cameras (far before the focus!) without any loss of sharpness
No incline in sharpness with magnifications above 200x as with "raw-polished" (flame-treated) glass plates
Substrate (glass): Neodymium doped color glass
Coating: 7-layer hard-multicoating / 27-layer dielectric UV/IR blocking coating
Ultra-hard and durable Ion-beam hardened coatings – may be cleaned anytime without fear

Connection thread:2" M48x0.75 filter thread
Filter thickness:1 mm
Filter cell:Metal
Low profile filtercell:height only 6 mm

"not yet finished to evaluate the product, but the dual use visual and photographic make it a good value anyway, further with Zeiss in background, so far so good!"
