Daystar 0.6x Reducer with Integrated Tilt Flange

The 0.6x reducer with integrated tilt flange, specially developed for the "Combo Quark", contains optics that shorten the focal length by a factor of 0.6x, allowing cameras with smaller image sensors to capture a larger portion of the sun in the field of view. It is designed for T-mount cameras with 17.5 mm (or 12.5 mm in combination with the supplied 5 mm spacer) backfocus.

Sharper images thanks to shorter exposure times
The reduction factor of 0.6 reduces exposure times to around one third (0.6 x 0.6 = 0.36!). This reduces the influence of seeing and makes the images sharper. This allows you to create images that, despite their lower resolution, show hardly any less detail than those taken without a reducer and with longer exposure times.

Tilt function to avoid Newton rings
The Daystar 0.60x Tilt Reducer also has a tilt function that can be used to remove interference fringes. These interference patterns, also known as Newtons rings, are a common problem in solar photography and can only be avoided by tilting the surfaces where the pattern occurs against each other.
