10Micron GM1000 HPS EP GoTo Mount (Head)
With the new HPS mounts, 10Micron introduces solutions for dedicated astrophotographers who demand the highest tracking accuracy and state-of-the-art electronics. HPS stands for High Precision and Speed. EP stands for Enhanced Performance.
Thanks to targeted mechanical reinforcements, such as the reinforced RA and DEC axes and the improved bearings, the GM1000 HPS EP can now carry 30 kg of instrument weight with almost the same dead weight. This makes this mount the first choice for astrophotographers looking for maximum stability and accuracy in the compact mount class.
The GM 1000 HPS EP achieves a positioning speed of 15° per second! That´s enough to follow even very fast satellites. The positioning accuracy is less than 20" and the tracking accuracy is about one arc second at 15 min exposure time! These are excellent values for astrophotography, making guiding superfluous in some cases.
Absolute encoders on both axes:
The GM1000 HPS EP has absolute encoders in both axes. The mount never loses its orientation, even if the axes are adjusted manually. In mobile operation, the mount is faster and simpler to set up and polar aligned. Even after a power failure, no new alignment is necessary. With a fixed installation, you can be sure in remote operation that the alignment is not lost.
Important further advantages: Quick set-up and precise leveling in mobile operation Increased load capacity to 30 kg pure instrument weight Reinforced RA and DEC axes and larger bearings New V3 control box with industrial EU connectors and state-of-the-art electronics Also ideally suited for remote operation Fully automatic correction of atmospheric refraction (configurable) in both axes - the only way for perfect long exposures without guiding Precise GOTO - thanks to multistar alignment method and pointing models. Read-in of satellite and comet orbits from web directories possible. Detailed instructions in German and English Electronic balancing - without opening the axes (pointing model is retained) - ideal when changing instruments Fast and extremely precise polar alignment thanks to state-of-the-art software alignment procedures Up to 0.6" RMS tracking accuracy - for long exposures without guiding! The electronics (box and hand controller) can be easily removed after each use. This prevents damage caused by premature ageing and moisture. A virtual hand controller is available on the PC for remote control.
