The camera weighs with only 80 grams only a little more than a normal eyepiece. It can be used on light telescopes without any problems and does not strain the focuser. The core of the camera is the modern and highly sensitive 1.3 million pixel Sony ICX445 EXview II sensor. The camera can capture up to 30 frames per second. With the included GPAquire software you can configure the camera and also set the output format of the data (Avi , FITS, Tiff).

The ATIK GP has no active cooling. Nevertheless, it is well suited for deep sky thanks to the low-noise SONY sensor. You can control the camera with the included capture software, but also with Maxim DL, Astro Art and others via the ASCOM interface.
