With an apparent field of view of 100°, the field of view is over 50% larger than at 82°. This clearly enhances the "spacewalk effect". The impression of floating in front of the object becomes overwhelming - this is a truly impressive experience. Another advantage is that you can observe an object for much longer without having to track the telescope. Especially owners of Dobsonian telescopes appreciate this.

The Ethos 21 mm has a very large true field of view, approaching that of the 35 mm Panoptic. The advantage of the Ethos 21 mm is clear, you can achieve a larger true field of view in the sky with very fast Newtonians while making full use of the light. For example, an f/4 Newtonian will provide a light beam of about 5 mm with the Ethos 21 mm. Ideal for observing in average light conditions. An eyepiece with 35 mm focal length would already have a light bundle of 8.7 mm diameter. A large part of the light would pass the eye unused.
