The Canon EOS RP Astrophoto - the camera is specially converted for astrophotography.

Capture the night sky with breathtaking clarity and admire the splendour of the milky way and the fascination of nebulous objects, star clusters or even distant galaxies. The Canon EOS RP is specially rebuilt for astrophotography. The sensitivity in the red range is higher by a factor of 4*] than in the normal version. As the conversion is carried out by Canon Service, the warranty remains valid.

The advantages of the mirrorless full-format camera compared to the conventional SLR camera:
The vibration caused by folding up the deflecting mirror is eliminated, no more blurring of the images.
The flange focal distance (working distance from mount to sensor) is reduced from 44 mm to only 20 mm. This gives room for more adaptations, such as an off-axis guider or a filter holder.
A powerful magnifier function allows you to focus precisely directly on the sensor and then start shooting immediately.
The rotatable and swivelling display with touch screen allows convenient focusing even when the camera is pointing upwards.
The camera is more compact and lighter than a conventional DSLR, so the focuser is not subjected to as much strain.
No problem when operating with manual lenses or telescopes if "trigger without lens" is activated.

Why is the conversion important for astrophotography?
A weakness for astrophotographers is the IR cut filter which is built into the cameras. It cuts relatively much of the red light area. The result is that just red nebula areas (H-II regions) are depicted relatively weakly.

If the filter is removed, the red sensitivity increases by a factor of 4 according to the now perfect transmission. Functions such as autofocus and dust vibrator are retained. Only the IR cut filter is removed, the protective filter is retained. The sensor is therefore not exposed to the environment without protection.

Question:
How can I trigger the camera on a manual objective or telescope??

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
Please go to the menu. C.FN menu, C.FN III, item 7, activate trigger without lens. Then it works also with manual lenses or telescopes.

A fantastic DSLR which I have been using for deep sky astrophotography, widefield nightscape photography and daytime photography. There was an issue with the first model I received and the service from TS was exemplary and I was furnished with a replacement. This camera gives me so much freedom to do so many types of imaging and is highly recommended especially for Astrophotography.
