TS-Optics Barlowed Laser for collimating Newtonian Telescopes
The well-made Newtonian laser allows a fine collimation of your Newtonian telescope within a few minutes. The accuracy is higher than with a standard 1.25" or 2" Newtonian laser collimator. The main advantage is that slight inaccuracies of the focuser (tilting) or the 2" clamping don´t adulterate the adjustment result, as they are compensated by the Barlow lens. Only prerequisites for the TS Barlowed Laser Collimator are that your Newtonian has a centre mark at the primary mirror and that you have a 2" focuser.

Working with the TS Barlowed Laser is that easy:
Collimating the secondary mirror:

The laser beam must strike the center of the primary mirror. This is achieved via collimation of the secondary mirror (adjustment of the adjusting screws at the secondary mirror). The laser beam is widened by the Barlow lens, so the laser point is expanded to an area. For this reason you should set the laser to maximum brightness.
Collimating the primary mirror:

Now the reflected laser beam shows the annular shadow of the center mark in the lateral view of the laser collimator. Tilting the laser has no influence on the position, only the adjustment of the primary mirror itself. Thus only the collimation error of the primary mirror remains, which you now can optimally eliminate.

Now you are finished, you have an optimally collimated Newtonian telescope

Replacing the battery in the laser
Replacing the battery involves a certain amount of effort.
-- Carefully unscrew the unit with the on/off switch, paying particular attention to the cables.
-- Replace the battery.
-- Before screwing on, twist the cables against the screwing direction so that there is no strain on the cables when screwing on and they are not pulled out of the luster terminals.
-- If you notice a pull when screwing on, it is better to open again and twist the cables a little more against the direction of rotation. We can also carry out the battery change for you on request.

"Wenn er funktuiniert, ist das mit der Barlowed Linse schon wirklich ein Vorteil, auch wenn der korrekte Sitz des Lasers im Okular-Auszug- wie bei allen Modellen- immer noch ein heikles Thema ist."
