Skywatcher Adjustment Laser for Newtonian and Dobsonian Telescopes
With this accessory you can adjust the optics of your Newtonian reflector telescope, easily and accurately. Simply insert the laser collimator into the focuser of your telescope and see if the mirrors are properly adjusted or not.

The telescope is accurately adjusted and ready to use in a matter of minutes. This can be done even in the dark, the handling is no more difficult than changing an eyepiece.

Short guide: How to adjust your Newtonian with the LA2 adjustment laser:

1. Preparation: Place the telescope tube horizontally and rotate it so that the focuser points upwards. Then insert the adjustment laser into the 1.25" socket, but do not clamp it. This will increase the accuracy of the adjustment because you avoid tilting the laser. Switch on the laser.

2. Adjustment of the secondary mirror: Bring the laser spot to the center of the primary mirror by adjusting the alignment of the secondary mirror. A central mark in the center of the primary mirror (hole reinforcement ring) is helpful. You are looking at the primary mirror from the front of the telescope.

3. Adjustment of the primary mirror: The lateral cutout of the laser must point in the direction of the primary mirror. When the optics are roughly pre-adjusted, you will already see the reflection point on the ground glass. Now adjust the primary mirror with the collimation screws so that the laser beam passes again through the central hole in the focusing screen of the laser. (Figure on the left - here the primary mirror has to be readjusted a little bit).

Done! Your Newtonian is now very well adjusted and now ready for a successful night of observing.
