Adapter for decoupling the focuser from the primary mirror cell - with tilt flange
The simple and robust construction of the small GSO-RC telescopes can make collimation a complicated and tedious procedure, especially for inexperienced users. The problem is usually caused by the rigid connection between the primary mirror cell and the focuser.

This adapter solves the problem: The focuser is no longer attached to the primary mirror cell, but to the adapter, which is screwed to the back of the telescope. The focuser is screwed onto the M90 thread (identical to the original thread). With the integrated tilt flange, the focuser can therefore first be precisely aligned and then the primary mirror can be adjusted independently of it.

A little manual skill, but no special tools are required for mounting on the telescope. Please read the assembly instructions first to determine whether you are able to carry out the assembly yourself and have the necessary tools. The instructions can be found here.

"I'm very pleased that they offer this product, since it solves a problem with these RC telescopes and nobody else offers a similar solution. However, we did find that this product can produce a light leak. Fortunately, we came up with a simple solution. The alignment aid is also used to prevent light from entering the telescope. Apparently, this it insufficient. We printed 2 rings to fit inside the adapter ring. One fits snuggly inside the adapter ring against the back plate of the telescope. The other one fits somewhat loosely inside the adapter ring and is glued to the tilt plate. Hopefully, they will incorporate something similar into this product in the future."
