Celestron #93599 Night Vision LED Red Light Flashlight
Protect your dark adaption by using a red light flashlight.
A red light flashlight is part of the basic equipment of every serious amateur astronomer, but is also useful for anyone who needs to work in low light conditions. Unlike a regular flashlight, a red light flashlight not only helps you find your way in the dark, but also maintains dark adaptation so you can still observe successfully.
The Night Vision´s LEDs emit pure red light, as a result, only the color sensory cells responsible for red light respond - the black and white sensory cells active in the dark are red-blind and retain their dark adaptation. Unlike flashlights with red bulbs or filter foils, there are no other color components in the Night Vision that can nullify the dark adaptation of the black-and-white sensory cells.
The Celestron Night Vision flashlight has two powerful, dimmable red LEDs. This allows you to adjust the brightness to suit your needs: Dim red light to work on the telescope or read star charts, or bright red light when, for example, you are looking for the right accessory or a sliver has fallen into the grass.
The brightness can be regulated continuously. For this purpose, a rotary wheel is used, which can also be operated with gloves. Power is supplied by a standard 9-volt block battery, so no expensive special batteries are needed. The battery is included and lasts a very long time due to the power-saving LED technology.
With 11.6 x 3.4 x 2.5 cm and a weight of 80 g, it is very handy and does not bother you even if you hang it around your neck with the ribbon ready to hand at any time.

"Sehr gute Rotlichtlampe. Endlich eine mit einer starken Lichtausbeute. Sowohl für den Nachteinsatz am Teleskop, als auch in der Natur einsetzbar. Durch Verstellmöglichkeit des Fokus eine sehr gute Allgemeintauglichkeit."
