Since years, Teleskop-Service has looked for an alternative to high end focusers for an affordable price. Now we can offer a very good high end focuser for an incredible price.


The Rack and Pinion drive system:

A simple Crayford focuser works by pressure. The load on the drive shaft puts pressure on the ball bearings and reduces the operational smoothness. Our RPA focuser is operated by a rack-and-pinion system and has no ball bearings: this has the advantage of separated driving and bearing sections. Even under heavy load, it can be operated smoothly with fine movements.

The locking mechanism has been improved, too. No simple screw puts pressure on the drawtube but the position of the drive system is being fixed. So the focus position is maintained perfectly.

Self centering 2" and 1.25" reducers
As simple locking screws don´t allow friction locking, a force-fit connection holds the 2 and 1.25" reducers. By the same way, they always are perfectly centered.

"Der perfekte Auszug für meinen 80 mm APO. Verkippungen wie vorher am Crayford wären erwartungsgemäß verschwunden, ein Motorfokus ließ sich in ein paar Minuten adaptieren. Solide Verarbeitung und präzises Händling. Der Auszug ist jeden Euro wert!"
